Personal Data Protection Legislation changed on May 25, 2018. We will inform you of the details below as well as remind you how we process your personal data in online business banking.
Who is responsible for processing your personal data?
Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (BBVA) with registered office at Plaza de San Nicolás 4, 48005, Bilbao, Spain.
Who is the BBVA Data Protection Officer and how can you get in touch with him?
The Data Protection Officer is the person in charge of protecting the fundamental right to personal data protection in BBVA and is responsible for compliance with data protection regulations. You can contact BBVA's Data Protection Officer by sending an email to the following address: dpogrupobbva@bbva.com
What do we use your personal data for?
We process your personal data to manage any transactions related to the use of the BBVA Global oNet Cash tool. Likewise, BBVA will process your personal data for the prevention of money laundering and terrorist activity financing to allow it to comply with its information compiling and identification obligations, and to provide information on payment transactions to authorities in other countries, inside and outside the European Union, according to the legislation in certain countries and the agreements signed between them.
Why do we use your personal data?
The legal basis that allows us to process your personal data is the performance of the contract to which you are a party.
BBVA must also comply with the legal obligations that have been imposed by law, as well as the current legislation on personal data protection.
How long will BBVA keep your data?
We will keep your personal data while you remain a user of the BBVA Global Net Cash tool and until BBVA has been duly notified to the contrary, in which case we will keep your personal data blocked for the legal prescription terms, which are generally 10 years under anti-money laundering regulations. Once the legal deadlines have passed, we will destroy your data.
To whom will we communicate your data?
We will not pass on your personal data to third parties unless we are required by law or that you have previously agreed with BBVA.
In order to provide you with a suitable service and manage the relationship we maintain with you as a customer, at the following link http://bbva.info/empresasdatos you will find a list, sorted by category, of the companies that process your information on behalf of BBVA, as part of service provision agreements with them.
Furthermore, we would like to inform you that, for the same purpose as indicated in the previous paragraph, certain companies that provide services to BBVA may have access to your personal data (international data transfers). These transfers are made to countries with a level of protection comparable to that of the European Union (suitability decisions made by the European Commission, standard contractual clauses and certification mechanisms).
